March Madness is a simple numbers game; 67 teams in the field will NOT win the national championship; there are anywhere from 12-16 roster spots on NCAA basketball teams. That is a plethora of broken hearts of kids in tears for CBS, TNT, TBS, and Tru tv to zoom in on. There was no more…

Under one hour until the NCAA tournament tips off! Today and tomorrow are the best two days of the year outside of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Here is my bracket this year, what do you guys have?
Today is the day. 5th place in the B1G is on the line tonight in Bloomington. IU fans say they are back, and after Purdue wins tonight, they will be back…back below Purdue in the standings.

A Tribute to Robbie Hummel made by The Paint Crew.
This video relives the career of one of the most beloved Boilermakers in history: Robbie Hummel. From his blocked shot against Wisconsin to give the “Baby Boilers” their first signature win, to the 5-second call he drew against West Virginia on New Year’s Day in his junior season (the single loudest play I have witnessed in Mackey Arena), to his injuries, and his comeback this season. This video does a much better job of portraying Hummel’s legacy as a Boilermaker than I can put into words.
If you don’t get at the absolute very least misty eyed during this video, you have no soul.
Boiler Up!

Terrible news out of West Lafayette this morning. DJ Byrd has been suspended for Sunday’s game against Michigan State and Kelsey Barlow has been dismissed from the team.
Members of the team, including Robbie Hummel and Lewis Jackson, were out celebrating Barlow’s 21st birthday. What really happened is pure speculation at this point, but we do know DJ was arrested for Public Intoxication.
This is the third straight season for Purdue where some unforeseen misfortune strikes the team late in the season. In 09-10, Robbie went down with his ACL injury when Purdue was playing better than any team in the country. In 10-11 Barlow was suspended for the NCAA Tournament. And now this.
We here at Boilermakers always loved Barlow on the court. He was clearly the most athletic player and had the best pro potential of any player on the team, but he just never seemed to really put it all together. His issues off the court though were frustrating, and ultimately Painter had to dismiss him, as this was Barlow’s third strike.
Here are some of the best moments, in picture, of Barlow’s career as a Boilermaker.
